About forty students and those accompanying them arrived at eleven to spend the day here at the monastery. They are Coptic and they try to come at least once a year, particularly in Great Lent when they read, contemplate and discuss spiritual matters. It is impressive to see a large body of young people so enthused about this event. Before they left, others came for Vespers where, once again, I served while seated. As soon as we had supper, each person went to fulfill their obligation by vacuuming, etc while others prepared the books needed for tomorrow’s Matins, a service which can be complicated at times. I hope that I heal quickly, as there is going to be more watering of plants this year than before.
