As this is the last day of the Victoria Day weekend, the highways are jammed with cars returning home from a brief camping or visiting trip. This is the kind of day when it is best to stay off the highways. Lija and Olga arrived early in the afternoon to do cleaning for us but, before that, they prepared Lithuanian cold borshch and delicate vareniki with cottage cheese for us. I stayed out of the way while they cleaned and it was so nice to come to the cottage and to see the good cleaning that they had done. Thomas took an excellent photo of the rose rhododendron with a large butterfly perched on one of the blooms. I hope that we can put it up on the website for all to enjoy.
