What a blessing it has been to have so many volunteers showing up today to continue working at various jobs in addition to weeding and watering. The cross on top of the gate house has been painted and it is shining in golden glory. Today is a public holiday and these people could have stayed home to rest or gone camping, etc, yet they felt it necessary to help us out here at the monastery. As soon as I finish this entry, I will go to water the plants near the cottage and, at the same time, pick a few blackberries. The ladies brought us a large basket of tomatoes from Vladika Lazar’s little garden and it is difficult to realize how just a couple of plants can produce so many tomatoes, and delicious ones at that.
