FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2019

It has been very peaceful with the celebration of the feast of the Elevation Of The Cross followed by a bit of tea and a restful afternoon.  I noticed that the chestnut trees have been dropping their nuts which the squirrels readily open and enjoy eating. It is a pity that they are horse chestnuts which are inedible rather than the kind that can be roasted  and eaten as a treat., as in marron glace [French iced chestnut] which I have never had.
