On our way to the new church, Vladika Lazar and I dropped into the kitchen. We were fortunate to meet our Thursday helpers, Marina and Tatiana, who had already made a fish dish and a cold soup called “okroshka” which is either loved by many, or else hated with a passions by others. I happen to like it, so it was a real treat to have some of this ancient Russian [basically summer] soup. And no, although I was tempted, I did not use a wooden spoon to eat this amazing cold soup.
