How wonderful that today we got a reprieve from the heat!!! It was cloudy and then rained a bit and so the temperature has dropped and there is a gentle breeze blowing.
I just returned from the kitchen where I had a salad which had blue cheese dressing (super yummy) and crumbled seaweed (also super yummy). Surprisingly, the blue cheese dressing and the seaweed make an excellent combination. These were washed down by a tall glass of tansey tea and dessert was a whole grain tortilla with peanut butter.
A lot of physical work is being done on the monastery grounds and I have gotten some excellent photographs which have been forwarded and hopefully will appear on the Facebook page; since I am not a part of Facebook, I don’t really check it to see what has or has not been posted.
On the way back from the kitchen, I met and spoke with Father Shio. He was busy cleaning his car so I didn’t want to distract him. His English is slowly but surely improving so hopefully other people will speak with him. The other day he and Glykho were having a lively conversation in Greek and it was rather funny because when I commented on how good his Greek is, she gave me a funny look and said, “Why shouldn’t it be, he’s Greek” When I explained to her that he is Georgian and not Greek, she was surprised, because his Greek is so good. Hmm! Hopefully one day we will be able to say the same things about his English and have him mistaken for a Canadian. [Fr Moses]
