It could scarcely have been a more perfect day with the sun shining brightly and melting the little snow that lay on  the ground.  I took Stavroula for a drive through the countryside, especially in the back roads far from the bustle of the towns and cities, then to our local post office where we had a cup of tea and met and spoke with a number of the local people.  She noted that the people had an air of gentleness and civility often not found in our day.  The reading of the Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete was in Church Slavonic tonight with Dima doing a marvellous job of reading.
