Need I say more?  We had snow and rain today and, at times both, which made driving dangerous. Perhaps this is preparing us for the feast of the Baptism of Our Lord which will take place this Sunday.  Later this month, Scotland will be celebrating Robert [Robbie] Burnes Day.  I can put up with the bagpipes and the highland dancing but beyond that I cannot understand how people can endure haggis, the revolting national dish of Scotland.  Can you imagine mixing offals [heart, liver, kidneys and other unmentionables] and boiling them in a sheep’s stomach, then serving it as the highlight of the evening meal? Maybe they would say the same about our unusual dishes such as poutine—french fries served with cheese and slathered with gravy.
