At times it felt as if it could not get any hotter with the temperature hovering around 35 degrees C. which was hot enough for most of us to wish that we could jump into a cold pond. Actually, some people told us that they did just that yesterday by going to the ocean, but the water was exceedingly cold there. At any rate we survived the heat during the Divine Liturgy and the Agape meal. I eventually had to excuse myself to go for a rest. Later Father Moses informed me that Mother Evstratia was taken to Harrison Hot Springs, a nearby resort and, although I have not spoken to her yet, I am sure that she must have been impressed, unless the tourist crowd was overwhelming. It is difficult to imagine what we would have done without the fans and air conditioners as did those before our time.
