We had the coolest day temperature today at about 3 degrees Celsius, but it really did not feel that cold.  In fact, we were promised some snow which did not appear, yet sooner or later we will have a snow storm.  For the first time since last winter, I had to turn on the heater in the church for Vespers.  It felt wonderful having Vladika Lazar serving in the altar while we stood at the reading stand, joined by Elena who sang alto beautifully.  She also treated us to a typical Russian lenten supper that was quickly consumed.  Later, over tea, we heard some of the adventures of a forensic pathologist who gave us an insight into the tragic world of addictions that few of us can imagine, in particular, the troubled lives and tragedies of young drug addicts.
