The sound of hammers hammering and saws sawing could be heard all day from early morning until sunset as men tried to accomplish as much as they possibly could before tomorrow’s rain begins. They had to go on the roof of the church to reach the belfry where a number of things had to be completed, while others gave the carpet in the church a thorough cleaning.
