Peace and tranquility reigned throughout the day, leaving me with a feeling of great joy. As a matter of fact, this emotion was so powerful that it almost brought tears to my eyes. If life could only continue in such blessedness. No doubt what aided in this matter was that I walked everywhere without the aid of a cane and the feeling of independence and a surge of new strength was overwhelming. Although nothing of importance happened today, I feel that yesterday’s feast of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist [or the Forerunner as he is often called] has blessed me with such serenity.
