The days are becoming shorter with great rapidity and one positive aspect about this is that the vigil lamps looked after by Niana are immediately noticeable both in the outdoor chapel and gatehouse as well.  As one walks by in the dark, the flickering lights  draw our attention to the main purpose of the monastery—praying for the salvation of souls. Yet, life is not dreary or dull here at the monastery; there is always something to bring joy to us or for us to be happy about whatever takes place.  Considerable time is spent at the computers in answering queries or tending to the needs of people wherever they might be.  How did we ever manage before the appearance of computers?
