Once again, I had only about three hours of sleep last night and, as a result, I spent the entire day behaving like a zombie—didn’t I say that before?  We had an early evening baptism, so I rode across the yard on my newly acquired scooter.  Actually it was fun racing on the gravel path, then going up to the new church on the chair lift that was installed on Saturday.  We baptized a cute two month old baby boy of mixed parentage, that is, half Russian and half Mexican.  He behaved perfectly as did his older brother who was aged about four and already trilingual. How fortunate are some children who are raised in a multicultural and multilingual atmosphere.  I recall how, a few decades ago, this was often frowned upon and thought of as a hindrance to child development….not anymore.
