MONDAY 1 OCTOBER 2018

Although this first day of the month of October began with light showers and a heavy grey sky, our spirits were not hampered and we hoped that this month would be a pleasant one, even though there was a forecast of snow for the interior of British Columbia. Would it snow here? Of course not, after all, we are right in the middle of tropical Polynesia, are we not??? Still, we should have some good weather before winter sets in. I like to take Vladika Lazar out, so that he does not feel cooped up and so today we went downtown to buy him a pair of shoes that are easy to put on with velcro straps instead of shoelaces. There happened to be a pair in his size, but I shall have to locate another pair somewhere for myself because they really are much easier to put on for me as well. We saw huge flocks of geese flying south for the winter and soon there will be swans as well.
