Well, here we have had another day of mixed weather, partly sunny, partly cloudy and warm. It did not rain but looked very much as though rain was just waiting to surprise us.Someone gave us a book of Bible crosswords so I decided to look it over. Quickly it was clear that a person has to be familiar with the entire text of the Bible in order to successfully work out these crosswords. Even if a person looks up the passages, they have to be familiar with the text in order to know where to look for the answers. Not only are these crosswords fun, but they are an excellent way to learn more of what the Bible is saying as well as to show a person how much they don’t know. Then, I was thinking, wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were crossword books on the subject of the writings of the Holy Fathers, on the Divine Liturgy and so on; there could be many subjects to cover. There was an NA meeting this evening and the parking lot was full. Once again the meeting was held outdoors, around the fire pit with an enthusiastic group of participants.
