Daily Diary, 13 March, 2020

Today at the monastery has been cold and there are very high winds. Several times the lights have flickered so it is a surprise that we didn’t lose our electrical power during the day or evening. The interiors of our buildings are quite chilled and often make me think of what it would be like to live in a stone castle with lots of drafts and no glass in the windows.

We did have the evening Presanctified Liturgy which was attended by several families. Matushka Raissa and Reader Sorin, did the chanting and I stood nearby just to monitor their progress. The service went smoothly and was encouraging those attending to continue in their striving for the improvements that lenten services make known.
