I honestly did not think that I would make it to church in time, as everyone had already left and I was on my own.  The care giver finally came to give me some assistance but by that time I felt that perhaps there was no need to even bother, although in the end I managed, with Andy’s help to walk over through the rain.  After the Liturgy we had an Akathist served,  followed by a memorial service at the end of which Father Victor blessed everyone with holy water during which I almost “jumped out of my skin” as the saying goes.  The cold water hit one of the chandelier bulbs causing it to burst and to give us old timers a near heart attack.  All these episodes made the day memorable particularly when we could relive them after the meal.
