SUNDAY 06 OCTOBER 2019

As I recall, it must have been about 6 degrees C when I stepped out to go to church this morning and, knowing this beforehand, I put on my winter cassock thinking that it would keep me warm, which it did. When I entered the church I could see that all the windows were open, an indication that those present found it warm enough to allow some cool air to enter. I sat through most of the service due to the pain in my left leg [sorry to bother you with the description of my aches and pains] and, even after the Liturgy, when we served an Akathist to the Theotokos, Joy Of Canada, I still could not stand for long. It was a joy for us chant this service which was followed by everyone being anointed with holy oil from the lampada in front of the icon of the Theotokos. I believe that all who were present felt grateful for this short service which we should serve more often. It is always interesting to meet visitors who have come from near and far, as they have much to tell us about themselves and it seems that at every Sunday service, we are honoured by such visitors.
