I was given a new umbrella yesterday and this morning I used it to walk to church as it was raining lightly. In this climate we all have umbrellas and so often they are misplaced, so we are constantly looking for our own or other umbrellas.  Often there are several of them on the verandah, open and waiting to dry before being used again. I thought that the holiday season was over, yet today we had prayers for those who are about to travel, most of them to Europe, although a couple of people are joining a large group of about forty people who are planning a trip to Cuba, so let us hope that they will avoid the hurricanes.  I completely forgot to announce that we will have a liturgy on Saturday, 21 September,  on the feast of the Birth of the Theotokos, so I shall mention it again in the Dairy and on Constant Contact.
