A couple of ladies came this morning to help us in the kitchen, mainly to prepare some food for us. How could anyone refuse such assistance? At any rate, they prepared a huge pot of borshch and fried fish. The borshch was so delicious that I had two helpings, with sour cream, and I felt as if I had eaten enough for two days. Thomas picked a bagful of apples from our organic apple trees which we tried with brie cheese, while Sorin brought us beefsteak tomatoes which we will have tomorrow as tomato and sweet onion sandwiches. Father Moses and I sat at the piano to prepare for this Sunday’s signing rehearsal. It has been so long since I played the piano that my fingers were unable to cooperate, yet after a few minutes, they began to relax and we sang parts of the Divine Liturgy which we will practice on Sunday.
