We celebrate the memory of Saint Alexander Nevsky today, a dearly beloved saint of the Orthodox Church and the patron saint of our own dear Alexander, Prince Andiysky, who was a benefactor of our monastery together with his wife, Princess Elena Andiyskaya. He reposed in the 1970s and she in the 1980s, yet their memory lingers here to this very day. In fact, we have an icon of Saint Alexander Nevsky and Saint Helen hanging in the altar of the new church, so that we feel their presence at all times. May their memory be eternal. We received an enthusiastic email today concerning last Sunday’s reading and singing practice in the afternoon. I do think that we have begun a period of activity that will inspire others to join us in our own enthusiasm, so do join us and you will also benefit from this God pleasing activity.
