SUNDAY 10 JUNE 2018

At the end of the Liturgy we had a memorial service for Michael Apostolidis who reposed six months ago. His widow, Glyko, has, in the meantime, moved to an apartment thanks to the help of some of the parishioners and she seems to be settling in. It makes it difficult for her, since her son lives in Switzerland while the daughter is in New York. As we finished the Agape meal, Andrei brought me his cell phone and showed me what I thought was a photo of Simeon, the Georgian who lost his son last fall, but instead it was a skype call from Georgia. I was happy to be able to speak to him and see him on the screen, something that I am not completely accustomed to, even though many people use skype every day. As an added note, I might say that I was not bothered by a single mosquito today [also thanks to Elena from Washington who sent some advice on how to deal with these nasty insects].
