At noon I took Vladika Lazar out for a ride and we drove as far as Harrison Bay to the Kilby Park where an old country store has been preserved in its original form. We did not wish to see the store, as we had seen it years ago when it was still a functioning store. Instead, we went to its small restaurant to have lunch and there we met tourists from France which gave me the opportunity to practise my French which has almost entirely disappeared. To my pleasant surprise, much of it came back. For the rest of the day we have stayed indoors to keep out of the heat. I was glad to see others come to do the necessary watering of plants, shrubs and newly planted trees.
