TUESDAY 31 JULY 2018

Yes, it has been a hot day but the weather was not so punishing as in the previous days; cooler, and even some rainy days are forecast, much to our delight. The day began early, as Vladika Lazar had to be at the Abbotsford Hospital to have a bone density test, and while he was taken there by Thomas, the home care lady came, so I had to think of things for her to do in Vladika’s absence. In the afternoon we went to Mission for another therapy session, only to discover that the therapist could not show up because he was suffering from the heat. At this very moment some of our eager volunteers are out picking berries and when they return I shall walk over to the kitchen to share some tea with them. I rather think that Yuri has baked another loaf of bread, prepared in the ancient way where the dough takes at least nineteen hours to develop before it is put in the oven. If so, we should have some tasty bread and Siberian honey. Liudmila pampers me by giving me the choice slices to which I really do not complain.
