Tuesday 28 August

We celebrated the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos with a Liturgy that was well attended, considering that it was a working day. Of course, breaking the fast was enjoyable with a large amount of food for everyone. We could not stay to visit with the people too long, as Vladika Lazar had an appointment with his oncologist, so I had to drive him the Abbotsford Hospital. The report was favourable, as the oncologist told Vladika that he was completely free of cancer in the area where the operation had been and this cheered us immensely. We celebrated the good news by going to a drive through and ordering coffee and an apple fritter, something I have not had for at least fifteen years, if not more [and yes, it was tasty!].
