Today was rather a difficult day in that the family of the young man, Alexey Lyakh, who recently drowned with two friends at Shannon Falls, north of Vancouver, came to talk about the funeral. As an only child, his parents are heart broken as one can readily understand. Sometimes there is little that one can say, so we sat for a long time in the shade of the cedar trees, breathing the fresh air and becoming lost in the nature around us. Before leaving we served a memorial which made everyone feel better. All I can say is that you pray for the reposed Alexey. Just before beginning this entry, I thought that I had a glimpse of a mouse running by, but decided that it was my imagination. How could there be a mouse inside when we have mice “stations” around the house, and even inside. Yes, it must have been my imagination. Suddenly, there before my eyes, was a little mouse scurrying about! Let us hope that this was an exception and not a rodent invasion.
