SUNDAY 3 JUNE 2018

The weather forecast for today was for showers throughout the day and we did have them, but fortunately they did not bother us, perhaps they were even of some assistance, since the mosquitoes are less evident during the rain. The Divine Liturgy was meaningful as it always is and the Agape meal was prepared with abundant food. Many people stayed here until four in the afternoon when the Healing Service began. We were blessed to have a large number of people for this second service where four languages were used. Because of my weakness, I sat through many of the readings, while Vladika Lazar stood for the entire service. Father Michael, the dean of B.C. and Yukon served with us, as did Father Matthew from Chilliwack, Father Evgeny from Vancouver Island and, of course, our own Father Moses. We were pleased to have the newly ordained deacon, Father Mikhail, join us. The supper that followed was also offered with abundant food. We must thank those women who worked yesterday and today to prepare all the food and also the women who stayed behind to clean up. The cleaning up job is not exciting or glamorous, but very necessary and it is usually the same volunteers who stay behind to complete this work. May God bless you all!
