Most of the baptisms we have are at eleven o’clock and I had forgotten that today’s baptism was at one in the afternoon, not that it made any great difference other than throwing me into some confusion. The baby, Valerie, was a delight to behold and to baptize, with not even a squeak out of her. Perhaps I am losing my memory because I completely forgot about the loaves necessary for tonight’s service, and thus it had to be dealt with immediately. While watering our berry bushes, Liudmila picked a quantity of raspberries, enough for a good sized fruit salad and more. Nothing beats one’s own berries freshly picked and quickly eaten.
