SATURDAY 13 OCTOBER 2018

We baptized a little baby boy this morning, then in the afternoon, Father Alexey baptized a little baby girl. It is often the case that food is brought after a baptism and today was no exception. After Vespers, we had supper prepared for us by Galina and Anna, while Vladika Lazar was brought an Ethiopian meal by the visitors who were here the other day. I mention food so often in this diary that perhaps some readers might think that all we do is to eat, but that is not the case. Katia and Dragan were here for the service and Dragan gladly accepted my request to make an analoy for the new church, as the one we use is not only old, but wobbly and unattractive. Deacon Markel and Reader Sorin spent most of the day working on the water line and they think that they might have solved the problem. Kyrill accompanied me back to the cottage in the darkness where we could hear some animal in the woods nearby. I think that it was a bear and when we walked into the cottage, the Home Care lady was helping Vladika. I told her of this sound and she was afraid to step outside. Fortunately, her car was only a few steps away from the door.
