After months of difficulty with the water system in the konak, we think that the problem has been resolved.  Father Moses has been able to get water, no longer having to come to the main building with a bucket, or using a garden hose.  Many, many thanks to all who so diligently strove to overcome what originally seemed like a minor problem. Let us hope that there will be no more difficulties with this.  Together with today’s entry there is shown an icon of Saint Nikolai, the Orthodox Enlightener of Japan who was truly a great missionary, without whom there would be almost no presence of Orthodoxy in Japan.  We were sent a number of icons and booklets about the Orthodox Church in Japan by Vladimir Bogdanov, who resides in Japan and who visited our monastery a couple of months ago. If this subject interests you, a number of services in the Japanese language can be found on Youtube.
