FRIDAY 15 JUNE 2018

It became slightly warmer today in preparation for the heat that is to come in the next few days. In true British Columbia manner, we have complained about the cold, about the rain, and now we shall begin to complain about the heat. On the way to the Wound Clinic we dropped off Yuri at the train station so that he could return home. Once we returned to the monastery I went out to inspect the berry bushes and found sweet and juicy raspberries ready to be picked. Then I went on to get some red and black currants so the berry season has begun and, before long, we shall be picking blueberries. I can assure you that there is nothing so tasty as freshly picked berries rather than the ones we find in stores that could be several days old. So, if you have even a little space outside, plant a couple of raspberry bushes to enjoy in early summer.
