Today’s entry is being written on Friday, 21 December, because it was impossible to get it ready yesterday.  We had our first [and let us hope the last] Pineapple Express of the season.  This occurs when there is a powerful disturbance in the southern areas of the Pacific and hurricane strength winds come rushing toward our coast.  There was a lot of damage done and over 200,000 people were left with no power…including us.  The generator helped to keep us warm and to give enough light so that we could at least read.  Parts of Mission and Abbotsford were still without power on the following day, and it felt eerie driving through areas, even business areas, that were in darkness.
