WEDNESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2018

I neglected to mention in yesterday’s diary that, when we arrived back at the monastery in the late afternoon, we saw four windows leaning against the workshop and immediately we realized that a guardian angel had provided the monastery with the needed gift for the new church. Its four windows needed replacement, one of them being cracked and the others having no screens for opening the vents. We profusely thank this person for this much needed gift! Today we had a brief visit from Timur and Nino, our Georgian friends whom we have known so long who dropped in before preparing for another long haul trip, this time to Florida. Father Shio was undoubtedly pleased to have someone with whom he could speak in his own language. The trip to the pharmacy was brief where we got our flu shots for this year. A truck load of coarse gravel was spread at the entrance to the monastery where we have trouble whenever it snows heavily. I hope that this will avoid any problems in the future.
