SATURDAY 16 JUNE 2018

The heat arrived and we began to melt like snowmen in the heat of a warm spring day. I see that the boysenberries are looking promising and should be ripe before too long. Late in the afternoon Andy and his boys came with the wood chipper and began tackling all the broken branches that had fallen, as well as those that had to be cut down. He promises that all will look good in a while and let us hope that we do not have such a terrible ice storm again, at least not in my lifetime. By way of interest, Vladika just noticed that the price of a McDonald’s hamburger in the 1950s was fifteen cents. In fact, I remember how a three course meal in that same period could cost seventy five cents! Times have changed, hanven’t they?
