WEDNESDAY 13 JUNE 2018

This must be the first time in many years that I have stayed in bed so long, but I had to have the necessary rest. During this time I could hear a truck driving up to empty a load of gravel and others noises outside, but I resisted the temptation to get up. Naturally this made me feel much better for the rest of the day. All the mailing that had been waiting was completed, both national and international. In mid afternoon we had a torrential downpour with lightning and thunder, and rain pelting down upon us with the greatest of strength. Of course, we welcome the rain as the soil needs it, but not necessarily with such force. Tonight I am again going to bed early and this might be a good time to inform everyone not to telephone me after six o’clock as I need my uninterrupted rest.
