There were such mixed emotions when I entered the church this morning.  I knew that the entire service would be too tiring for me, so three strong men came at eleven to help me walk across the courtyard and up two sets of stairs, while using my crutches.  As I walked into the church using the side door, I could see the smiling faces and that gave me such a feeling of gratitude for having wonderful people in attendance at the Divine Liturgy.   As they came up for a final blessing, I lost control of my emotions and I burst into tears once again as I looked into their tear filled eyes as they embraced me.  Can you image—all of this over a simple hip replacement.  Needless to say, I was overwhelmed and could not control my emotions.  Once again, I must thank everyone who worked so hard this past while and especially yesterday, and I must remind each person that the monastery is not just for us, so please uphold and preserve it for your children and grandchildren.
