SATURDAY 14 JULY 2018

How should one react to a day full of activities? With gratitude and thanksgiving. Father Moses and I drove to Surrey to serve a funeral for Alexey who had lost his life at a waterfall. In a day or so he would have been thirty years old and his parents are heartbroken, as one could imagine. Meanwhile Vladika Lazar served a baptism with the help of Deacon Paul, then a crowning of a marriage, so that by the time we returned to the monastery it was almost time to serve a panikhida. Vladika Iriney served Vespers while Father Moses and I sang at the kliros. I became so tired that I could scarcely type this diary entry, making countless mistakes and having to correct them. I hope for a sound sleep tonight as tomorrow will be a special festive event with the ordination of Reader Markel to the diaconate.
