Today’s Liturgy for the feast of the Birth of the Theotokos was served in three languages, English, Slavonic and Georgian, with Father Shio serving with Vladika Lazar. Father Moses and I were at the kliros and, if I might be so bold in saying so, I thought that we sang quite well. A number of Georgians attended and all stayed for a lenten meal after the service. The men were thrilled because they saw one of the bears, a young one, upon a ledge of the granite cliff behind the monastery. Marina phoned from Edmonton and said that it was cold there with a second snowfall, which frightens us here in this part of British Columbia, as we like to think that we have almost a semitropical climate and the least mention of snow sends us into a state of panic.
What has happened, Vl. Barlaam Varlan?
We have missed you for almost a week!
