THURSDAY 4 OCTOBER 2018

We were visited this morning by Father John and Matushka Anna Bingham of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, who are here for the marriage of their younger son Tomas. With them was Andrei Pryadko, their son in law, whom we remember so well as a young student at our local university many years ago, who then married the Bingham’s daughter Hanna and now they have four lovely little children. It was a delightful reunion and we shall see more of them in the next few days. Late in the afternoon, Roxana and Costi came from Bellingham, Washington, bringing the mother of a close friend who recently died at a young age. We served a memorial for the daughter, Barbara, and you might wish to remember her in your prayers. This evening the local group of Narcotics Anonymous met here at the monastery and, when I walked into the hall, there must have been at least fifty people in attendance. Vladika Lazar and Father Shio were also present at this gathering whose number seems to be growing. We are gratified that they can meet here and that we can offer them some solace and understanding.
