Everyone seemed to be anxious to know how my body was reacting to the new medication I was given this week. It is probably too early to tell, but I appreciated everyone’s concern. I began hearing confessions again this morning and, after an absence of a couple of weeks, I suddenly realized its importance. Yes, I do realize that some people might regard it as almost magical but those of sober mind will quickly understand that it is for the healing of both body and soul, and this is precisely where we can see spiritual growth and maturity. I am of one mind with those who feel rejuvenated after the Liturgy, and missing even a single such service leaves me feeling deprived, so let us all set forth into a new week, having been fortified by today’s Holy Eucharist.
