Vladika Varlaam had a successful hip replacement surgery at the UBC Hospital today, and will likely be home tomorrow or Saturday. Thank God for the Canadian health care system. Today, for the first time since my series of four strokes and a major cancer surgery, I drove into the nearby city of Mission. I will now resume driving as it was not difficult to do today. Vladika Varlaam will probably have his daily diary back on line Saturday.
