We baptized seven year old Jason this morning and it was so uncomplicated, for he did all that he was told and, with his perfect behaviour, this service was a delight. During the reception after the baptism, while speaking to his mother about family details, Iwas astonished to discover that her grandfather came from the same town as my mother’s family and some on the side of my father. In fact I do believe that Jason and his mother are distantly related to me and it is no wonder to hear people say that the world is a small place. Father Evgeny from Vancouver Island was here for Vespers so that Father Moses and I were alone on the kliros and, in my opinion, I think that we sang fairly well.
