SATURDAY 19 MAY 2018

A very light rain cleansed the air and added a freshness that only a light rain can bring. It in no way can resemble the fragrance of freshly cut hay or grass, yet it can offer us much pleasure. When Kirill accompanied me to the cottage in the evening, we could hear an owl hooting somewhere in the distance, as if inviting us to join it in the falling darkness. The last remaining vestments that have been hanging here in the cottage for a long time were carried over to the vestry where they belong, giving us more space here. Since it is near bedtime, I shall close today’s entry with the hope that this long weekend that we are experiencing, Victoria Day, will be peaceful and bring joy to all those who have gone camping or simply travelling, and that we shall see many of our regular parishioners tomorrow at the Divine Liturgy.
