It was an exhausting day even though I scarcely did anything. Let me explain. Thomas drove me to the Complex Joint Clinic which is situated in the Vancouver General Hospital, a return trip that took about four hours. At the clinic, I underwent several tests and finally got to speak with the surgeon himself, an older gentleman who was very professional, careful and polite. The good news is that he agreed to give me a hip replacement or perhaps a hip reconstruction. There might be a wait of four or five months, but that does not matter, as long as something positive comes from this effort. He told me that age does not matter as his oldest patient was 103 years old and he had a successful replacement! The examinations took about four hours so that we had an eight hour day, mostly just sitting and waiting for the next examination, but it was certainly worth all the trouble. On the way back, we stopped to return the medication that Natalya had forgotten at the monastery yesterday. This long day will soon end with a long and relaxing sleep, for tomorrow we will have another baptism.
