What can I say about today’s weather? We had intermittent sun, clouds, drizzles, heavy rain, light winds and much more, but fortunately no snow.  Actually, we were wondering if there would be enough water in the stream for the Theophany blessing and immersion that so many look forward to.  That is more than a month away and, I hope, there will be enough rain to raise the level of the water.  We were able to give away many of the persimmons that were brought to the monastery on Sunday, yet dozens were still left in the kitchen. As a result, we ate countless persimmons today, before they could become overripe. Never in my life have I eaten so many of them.  They are delicious when ripe, nasty when unripe.
